The Mauser rifle for sale is a 1910 dated M.1909 made for the Uruguayan military by DWM Berlin. What a gem of a find. Please read the history section to gain some context as to what a unique find this Mauser is. The 1909 Mausers were commonly made for Argentina by DWM and the Argentines. Eventually some were sold to Peru, Dominican and Costa Rica but those were models made by Mauser. Keep in mind these guns were also made in 7.65×53 or converted to 7×57. However due to the markings this appears to be an ORIGINAL 7mm Mauser barrel along with a DWM manufacturer marking. Production year being 1910. This rifle is in very good condition. The gun does not retain much bluing finish and infact looks polished, which was something done on many of the South American rifles. The stock is in great shape and retains much of its stock with nice beautiful tiger stripes on one side (See photos) We also note that there is not much damage or wear on the stock from use and transportation. The barrel is in good condition, we noted good lands and grooves but some light pitting has formed. This should clean up with a brush and some solvents. The bolt and bolt face look great and the action still feels smooth and strong. LOW 4 Digit serial number, many parts are matching but it is not an all matching serial number gun. Uruguayan Mausers are some of the rarest Mauser rifles in the world.
