This Egyptian Hakim rifle is in very good condition. The rifle is chambered in 8mm Mauser (7.97x57mm Mauser) and was manufactured in 1965 by Ministry of Military Production, Factory 54 (Maadi).
This rifle may have been refinished at some point in its life as the stock texture is very smooth. The wood may have been sanded down and then re-stained. It has also been upgraded with a scope mount over the rear sight with a UTG 2-7X32 Scope attached. Other than that the rifle does not appear to have any alterations from its original form.
The stock is in very good condition with only a few very minor dings and no signs of splits or cracks. As noted the wood may have been refinished. The finish on the metal appears to be original and shows only minor wear. The receiver is very good and the action strong as is famous for the Hakim. The receiver does show some wear and finish loss but is very clean inside. The bolt face is also remarkably clean given the age and caliber of the rifle. The barrel and muzzle break show minor wear. The bore is good, 3/5, with crisp rifling but there are some spots of pitting as well as abrasion wear.
All hardware appears present except for the rear sling mount which is missing. There is no observable rust or pitting on any of the metal with the exception of the scope mount screw. The scope mount and UTG scope are included with the rifle.
This rifle has been checked for mechanical function and operates as expected but has not been test fired by us. This is a great example of the Hakim “upgraded” to use for hunting or target shooting.
