History

The Bren light machine gun, developed by Britain in the 1930s and used until 1992, served as the primary infantry LMG for British and Commonwealth forces during World War II and later conflicts such as the Korean and Falklands Wars. It was based on the Czechoslovak ZGB 33, itself a variant of the ZB vz. 26, and was named after the cities of Brno and Enfield, with design work led by Václav Holek. In the 1950s, the Bren was adapted to fire the 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge as the L4 and later replaced by the L7 GPMG, though it remains in limited production in India as the 7.62mm 1B.

Condition
