New Old Stock – Colt Expanse M4 Carbine CE1000

This Colt Expanse entered our storefront as a never fired new old stock model. We investigated the rifle to confirm if this is true and to what we see this does appear to look the case. We did notice a ding on the picatinny rail as well as the case deflector but that could likely be from transport and test firing at the Colt factory. The 10-round metal magazine is not included with this rifle. Instead, the original Magpul PMAG Gen 2 will be. That magazine is still in its original packaging. The 10-round metal magazine was just for picture purposes. We are throwing in an M+M Industries MRD Micro red-dot sight with a Monstrum high mount riser. This makes an excellent package deal! The Colt includes its original matching box and manual. The box is fairly worn as this is an older discontinued model, but it is still intact and serves its purpose.

Colt’s Expanse line was introduced to the American consumer market as a way to create a more affordable AR-15 style rifle line from Colt. Colt cut cost where they could without effecting the build of material in the rifle. Colt Expanse models would not include a dust cover, a forward assist or a rear sight. This saved cost for Colt without hindering the quality of the rifle. The forward assist can be added as their is just a colt branded plug there. A dust cover can also be added and so can a sight as the upper has a 1913 flat top rail on it. Colt model number is CE1000

Even though these rifles were missing some features they have an excellent perception by the American commercial market. The quality was on point from anything made by Colt and these became quite rare items as unfortunately Colt discontinued the line. These rifles were popular in the mid 2010’s and were made prior to the Czechia based company, CZ, purchasing Colt.
