Description

In 1906, DWM introduced an improved design. Amongst the changes were rounded rather than flared toggle knobs, the recoil spring was changed from a flat spring to a coiled spring, the bolt head was repositioned and the extractor was strengthened. Nearly half of the approximately 33,000 1900/06s were produced by DWM in Berlin, however, beginning in 1918, the remainder of the 1900/06 series was manufactured at the Bern Arsenal. DWM Model 1900/06s were numbered from 5001 to 15,215. Bern Arsenal 1900/06’s were numbered 15,216 to 33,089. This particular Luger was one of the pistols manufactured by DWM in Germany. The bore on this Luger is bright and shiny and in excellent condition with strong lands and grooves.

Condition

The Luger pictured is the Luger pistol for sale. This Luger 1900/06 was produced in 1908, the third year of production, by DWM in Germany.
The Luger includes an original leather holster that has the name Vest.Mafor  on the inside. Both the pistol and holster are in very good/excellent shape for being well over 100 years old. The bore is in great shape we noted nice crisp rifling and could not see any pitting. Looks and feels like some preserving grease/oil was applied on some of the internal parts including the barrel. The breach face also looks very good. The bluing condition is very nice we note about ~85% bluing intact. Small scratch on the side plate. Finish wear in the spots that make contact with the holster.  The wood grips are in good shape with some minor finish wear and no cracks. The left grip is a little loose but can be tightened down if need be. The magazine has the original wood floor plate with steel dowel which is the rarest variant.

Matching numbers: Frame, barrel, breech, rear toggle.
