Complete and original “Romy G” Romanian AKM Parts kit. This Romanian AKM kit is a very rare parts kit of the Romanian “G” rifle. The original receiver has been torch cut and is missing some stubs. This kit has the original Cugir cold hammer forged chrome lined barrel. The kit will include an unissued Romanian AKM steel magazine. The magazine may need to be pinned or removed if you live in a state that prohibits the possession or purchase of these magazines. This kit also contains a full auto fire control group

The parts in this kit were produced by Cugir Romania in 1985.

The Romanian Pistol Miltraliera model 1963 also known as the PM MD.63 or PM63 / MD63 is was Romanians licensed production of Soviet Russia’s stamped 7.62×39 AKM rifle. This project was developed in the late 1950’s by Russia and granted licensing and funding in Romania in the 1960’s. Romania also produce the PM MD65 in 1965 which was the underfolding variant. The AKM became a standard staple of the Warsaw pact allies and the Soviet Union. The rifle was cheaper to produce than the milled AK-47 and Russia finally had the data down on the stampings. AIM’s models were designated for export and PM MD models were kept internally for Romanian forces. Romania was one if not the largest producer to this day of AKM rifles and AKM rifle components. Most of this was done by Romarm especially through the Cugir Arsenal. Sometimes Romarm would subcontract manufacturing through Sadu or Carfil.

The famous Romanian G also known as the “Romy G” was a rifle produced for the Patriotic Guard of Romania. A state militia that acted as a border control force. These rifles are easy to spot out from other PM MD63s as they have a bold crimson red G on the sight block as well as a black sleeve around the wood stock. Like the PM MD63 these rifles were fit with the famous one piece wooden handguard also known by many as the Romanian “Wooden Dong”. Romanian G rifles were not common as they were not a standard unit production.

The condition of this kit is excellent.
This is one of the best surplus kits we have ever seen come through our doors. The kit is complete and even includes the original barrel. We found 6 matching serial numbers.

The bolt was missing so we included one of our original new production Romarm/Cugir Romanian forged bolts. This bolt will be excellent for re-headspacing the barrel on your new US receiver.

We also included a factory new Romanian fire-control unit (ALL NFA RULES APPLY) The fire control unit can be removed if you wish.

This kit came with the original barrel as stated. We noted minimal wear throughout the barrel the rifling looked crisp and sharp and the bore looked very clean. We did see some fouling from carbon and some use but this is quite rare in this day and age.

The wooden components look excellent.

The finish on the metal parts looks great and we noticed the inside of the gas tube was quite clean.

We are including an unissued Romanian cleaning kit for AKs that can fit in the stock trapdoor. A unissued Romanian steel AK magazine, and a factory new set of Romanian AKM rivets.
