Original SIG Switzerland PE90P 20″ .223 Remington / 5.56×45 NATO Pistol. LOW S/N PE 24XX we suspect this to be an original early first production run likely in 1986. Green finish with Gen 1 receiver and W+F Bern marked barrel. These models made were made in Neuhausen the original SIG!

SIG PE90 / 550 Series: The SIG made PE90p is a SIG550 series pistol that has been imported from Switzerland. The PE90p is the private personal model made of the 550 series. These PE models are made for civilian use and often come first before the military production batches. PE stands for (privaten einsatz) which means private (personal) use. The Swiss needed a successor to the STG-57/PE57 rifle which utilized the Schmidt Rubin 7.55x55mm Swiss (GP11) cartridge. This rifle was great but large and heavy compared to many of the newer service rifles around the world. The Swiss began to look at manufacturing a much lighter and modular carbine to fill this role. Waffenfabrik Bern utilized models in both 6.45x48mm and 5.56x45mm (NATO) when testing this new carbine system in the SG541. 5.56 was a clear winner and in 1986 the Swiss began production of the SIG550. In 1990 it was adopted by the Swiss military, and later named STG90 or PE90 for citizen use. The rifle is very modular even 30 years later it utilizes ambidextrous safety-fire selectors. The 550 uses the famously reliable long-stroke gas piston operating system. The trigger guard can rotate outward for use with large winter gloves. It accepts 30, 20, 10, and 5 round polymer magazines that use a rock and lock system and features a last-round bolt hold open. The SG550/PE90 utilizes polymer furniture that is sleek and lightweight. The pistol grip has a compartment for magazine speed loaders or cleaning kits.  

For sale is an original PE90-P this PE90-P is in fantastic shape and is of one of the more sought after configurations. This is a true Swiss domestic market produced PE90P and has the original Swiss GREEN Ilaflon finish not the newer cerakote finish on models made for the American commercial market. This also has the original generation lower with the two fins on the magazine well. The barrel has a WF roll mark indicating that it was produced by Waffenfabrik Bern of Switzerland. Waffenfabrik Bern is no longer around and was the legendary Government manufacture that produced the Schmidt Rubin straight pull rifles, the Stgw57 with SIG along with the frames for the P210 and the military production line for the Stgw90 / 550 with SIG. This PE90 P would be one of the closest models you could get to a civilian variant of the Stgw90. Very very rare. The bore is in fantastic shape we noted a quite shiny bore with nice crisp sharp rifling intact and a clean chamber. The bolt and bolt face look great and there is good proper bolt lug contact. The action still feels buttery smooth. This PE90 comes with a SIG OEM adjustable bipod along with a detachable diopter sight. The furniture is polymer and green.

Includes 1 20 Round PE90 Swiss magazine but the magazine may need to me removed or modified if you live in a restricted/ban region. Sorry.
