This Lee-Enfield No 4 Mk 1 Rifle was made in 1943 at the Royal Ordnance Factory – Maltby. It is marked “ENGLAND” with Crown over P (commercial proof mark) indicating it was sold out of service for export. There are no import marks visible on any of the metal including the top of barrel under the hand guard. The serial number matches to stock socket and bolt. The magazine is not serialized.

This Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk 1 rifle chambered in .303 British is in very good to excellent condition.  The stock and hand guards have no cracks or splits. The finish is a deep brown with minor wear. There are a few scratches, scuffs, and minor dings common on rifles of this vintage.

The finish on the barrel and receiver is very good with minor wear. The muzzle shows complete loss of finish.

The bolt is very good with no rust present. Finish loss is nearly complete.

The Two Groove bore is very good with crisp rifling and minimal wear. There is some minor fouling present as well as what appears to be very small pitting. The receiver has some minor grime build up but no rust present.

Mechanically all parts function as they should.  This rifle has not been test fired by us.

This is an overall very good to excellent example of a ROF Maltby Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk. 1. The serial number is matching to bolt and stock socket. The magazine is unmarked / no serial. The rifle is marked “ENGLAND” with a Crown over P proof indicating is was sold out of service. There are no U.S. import marks observable on the receiver, barrel, or barrel under hand guard.
