This is a canvas OD Green U.S. Military M1956 Universal Small Arms Ammunition Pouch made in 1959.  Originally designed to carry a variety of ammuntion such as M1 Garand Enbloc Clips, M1 Carbine magazines, BAR magazines, and M14 magazines.  While M16 magazines would fit it required stuffing the bottom of the pouch to raise the magazines.  These were used during the Vietnam War era.

The pouch is in very good condition.  Stitching is solid.  Minor wear overall.  No tears.  Metal clips all show wear/paint loss.
