This 7mm Pinfire revolver is based on the pattern of the French Lefaucheux. According to our caliper the exact caliber is 7.4mm on the lands. The revolver is proof marked Belgian with E over LG over Star (Liege) and based on the Belgian Inspector’s mark of Crown over M would have been made between 1853-1877. The actual manufacturer is unknown.
This pistol is in good condition for its age. The finish is nickle-plated and shows minimal rust staining and scratching. The area with the most wear is the hammer which also exhibits very minor pitting near the frame. Minor grime is present in the crevices.
The barrel is 3 ¼ inch long with very minor staining. The bore is fair, 2.5/5, showing pitting, abrasion, and wear but rifling is still present. The cylinder is good with minimal wear and turns, locks, and functions correctly. The loading gate open and closes correctly and the ejector rod does function though appears slightly bent and tight to move. The grips, brown wood, are in very good condition with minimal wear and no obvious dings or scratches but are very slightly loose.
This pistol has minimal engraving on the cylinder and frame but it does look well done. All parts appear present and the mechanical function is correct. Double action is heavy. Single action is a bit lighter. The trigger, cylinder, and hammer appear to all be timed correctly. Please note, while we have checked this pistol for mechanical function it has NOT been test fired. This pistol is classified as antique.
