Heckler & Koch P2A1 “SigPi” 26.5mm Flare Gun

The HK P2A1 is a single shot break action flare pistol, a very robust and simple design used throughout both World War’s like many signal flare pistols. HK made the design a bit more robust, modern and lightweight by using a polymer frame. The barrel and breach and other wear induced parts are still produced out of steel. The German Bundeswehr used these and call them the “SigPi” simply Signalpistole. H&K states that these flare guns have a life expectancy of 1,500 shots of full power flares. These flare guns were designed in 1974 and are still made today periodically.
