This vintage Lienhard Combination Pistol and Rifle Conversion Kit will allow for the shooting of 4mm lead BBs in the Swiss Luger (7.65x21mm para / .30 Luger) and Schmidt Rubin 1911 rifles (7.5x55mm Swiss). This kit is Model C, Kombinierter Pistolen – und Gewehrapparat in der Armee offiziell im Gebrauch, translating to, “Combined pistol and rifle apparatus officially in use in the army”.
Lienhard conversion kits have been produced since the early 1900s for a variety of firearms including the Luger, the Swiss Schmidt Rubin Rifles, and SIG pistols. These kits are highly prized by collectors and valued by shooters wishing to practice at a lower cost.
This kit is unique in that the wooden box serves as a “bullet” trap target box. There is a metal plate on the inside back of the box that is the backstop. The box has a rotating clip that is pulled by a string that will allow the target to flip from side to front. The flipper mechanism is in working order. The box also has a mounting bracket on the back for hanging on the wall.
This kit appears to be complete. It is difficult to evaluate as comparable examples are often seen with either less or more parts. These kits did get used so it is very common the prior owner would lose parts or add tools as needed. What is shown in the photos is what will be received.
This kit includes:
Box – Wood, Metal bracket on front corners, Good condition, Cracked top to bottom on the back panel
