Persian 98/29 Bayonet Czech contract

The sword bayonet used with the Persian Mauser Model 98/29 rifle was initially supplied from Czechoslovak Army VZ–23 bayonet stocks, with later models newly produced by Zbrojovka Brno after the originals ran out. Early VZ–23 bayonets featured an edge-up blade and Czech-style scabbard, while the newly made M98/29 versions had an edge-down blade and a wire frog loop. Many bayonets bore the Pahlavi Crest, though some were renumbered, and although often called the VZ–23 “Long,” this suffix is inaccurate since VZ–23 was the only official designation.
