This Swiss Model 1918/55 bayonet made by Elsener Schwyz Victoria is in very good condition. This is the rare late period bayonet for the Swiss Schmidt Rubin K31 rifle produced between late 1955 to 1958. It is estimated that approximately 13,000 were produced. This bayonet featured a heavier hilt and similar grip to the 1914 Pioneer model as well as a slightly different lug button from the standard Model 1918. This bayonet was never issued as it has no serial number.
This bayonet is in very good condition. The blade edge shows no dings or rolling. The blade sides show only very minor wear from sheathing/unsheathing. There is no rust, rust staining, or pitting evident on any of the metal. The point is sharp and crisp. The point does show discoloration which is not rust staining but rather from its prolonged time in the scabbard.
The grip is excellent with no chips or cracks in the wood and only the most minimal signs of wear.
This bayonet comes with a scabbard. The scabbard is very good with with minor finish loss.
