This Swiss Schmidt-Rubin K11 carbine rifle chambered in 7.5 Swiss was made in 1926 as a standard Karbine 1911 for the Swiss army. Like many Swiss arms it was privatized to the soldier it was issued to at the completion of service. After that service it was ‘sporterized’ into a hunting/target shooting configuration.
This K11 Sporter is in excellent condition. The stock has been shortened to mid barrel and there is no upper hand guard. The pistol grip has been enhanced from the original butt stock. There is a patch over the left slide butt where the sling mount would have been. A small sling mount has been added to the bottom rear of the butt. A “Work Case” butt pad has been added. There is very nice carving of woodland scenes and leaves throughout the stock. The finish is excellent with minor wear. There is one hairline crack on the left side grip that may have been from a repair at some point.
In comparing to other K11s it is difficult to tell if the stock was modified from original or possibly made custom to replace the original.
The metal is excellent and has obviously been professionally refinished as it has a high sheen quality to it. The original sights have been changed and the front is a blade sight while the rear is a flip up leaf sight. Scope mounts have been added to barrel and receiver. It is very possible this was a re-barrel. The receiver has excellent finish and only minimal wear. Bolt has minimal wear with a clean bolt face. The bore is excellent with no signs of pitting and crisp rifling.
This rifle come with a German 4×36 scope with lense caps. Sight picture is exceptionally clear with a sharp German #1 Reticle.
Overall this is a beautiful example of a K11 Sporter that would serve well for both hunting and target shooting.
Please Note: Serial number matches on bolt and receiver. Magazine does NOT match.
