This is an original German MP38 / MP40 three cell pouch made in 1944 by Ernst Melzig, Lederwaren (clg).  This is the khaki colored canvas variant.  This pouch would have been for the right side and originally would have come with a three cell left side pouch with an additional pocket for a speed loader.  This listing is for the right side three cell pouch only.

This pouch is in excellent to near mint condition.  It does not appear to have been issued.  All the threading is solid.  There are no rips or tears.  The leather is still supple with only the middle strap showing creasing.  There is minor wear/tarnish but no visible rust on the metal D loop.  The metal strap posts show minor oxidation but no rust.  The only blemishes are a few brown stain spots on the back of the pouch near the bottom belt loop.

The markings are all correct and it appears the Waffenamt is double struck.  This is an amazing find in this condition.
