This Swiss Model 1914 Pioneer bayonet made by H. Steimer (marked HS) is in good condition. The serial number matches to Schmidt Rubin Model K11 rifles in 1916.
The Model 1914 bayonets were a sawback sword style featuring a long (17 7/8 inch) swell-point blade. The blade has a fuller on one side only. These were issued to both the K11 and K31 Schmidt Rubin rifles for specialized troops such as Engineers, Drivers, Blacksmiths, and Cavalry support.
This bayonet is in good condition. The blade edge shows no dings but there is some very minor rolling near the point. The sawback edge is very good, with solid sharp teeth but minor rust staining and grime. The blade point is very well defined. There is rust spot staining as well as some scratching and minor wear. The hand guard is very good with no rust evident. The grip is very good with minor wear. The pommel is extremely clean with minimal wear.
This bayonet comes with a scabbard. The scabbard is excellent with with minor finish loss. This is the steel scabbard which would have replaced the leather scabbard originally issued with the bayonet.
Fits Schmidt Rubin K11 and K31 rifles. Will not fit 96/11 or 1911 rifles.
