Description

This is a set of items that had were acquired in an estate liquidation of a former career military man. He had served and risen in the ranks from WWII to Korea to Vietnam as a member of the U.S. Army Airborne. The items in this set were either his own or collected from others during his time served.

 

The items in this set are original issue but not specific to the Airborne.  This is standard U.S. Army gear.  Almost all of the items in this collection are WWII with the notable exception of the M1 Carbine sling which is dated to 1961.

 

This set includes:

Musette Bag with sling – The Langdon Tent & Awning Co  Manufactured in 1942   D-8775 (crossed out) ?-6132

Cover marked – U.S.     ST. CROIX G. CO  1943

Canteen marked – U.S.  A.G.M. CO   1942

Cup marked – U.S.  A.G.M. CO   1942

Hood for Jacket, Field M-1943 – marked “L” 44-48   K 6132   no maker/year mark

 

Web Belt – markings extremely faded   U.S.    1944  maker illegible

 

Equipment strap and cord – no marks

 

M1 Garand or M1903 Rifle canvas rifle sock – no marks, likely not GI issue

 

M1 Garand Sling – P.K.W. 1944

 

M1 Garand cardboard 8 RD clip sleeve – five sleeves

 

M1 Carbine Ammo Bandolier – six cells, marked CAL 30 CARBINE BALL  M1  10 RD CLIPS  LC 13716  – undated

 

M1 Carbine Sling – MRT 12.61

 

Spoon – U.S  SILCO STAINLESS – WWII issue, no year

 

Spoon – U.S  WBW 1918 (best guess on year as mark is very worn)  this is a model 1910 Spoon

 

Sewing Kit – unmarked, with buttons and thread

 

Waterproof Match containers – 1 plastic, 1 metal,  Metal is marked MARBLE’S GLADSTONE MICH . U.S.A. PATD. 1900

 

Small Round Reflector – no marks

 

Nail Clippers – H.C. Cook Co.

 

Small Canvas Sleeve – Pen/Pencil holder?

 

Misc Boot laces

 

Waterproof Pouch – Pistol Specific, markings illegible

 

Covers, Waterproof, Pistol or Personal Effects –

14 of various sizes dated 1944 or 1945

 

M1 Garand Waterproof sleeve/bag – 4 total, marks illegible

 

All the items in this set are in good to very good condition. There is minor wear, some soiling and staining on the fabrics. Minor oxidation on some of the snaps or buckles.
